This art work has bee created to help scientists advance and fund solutions to protect and preserve our forests across the world.
Rainforests are often called the lungs of the planet for their role in absorbing carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, and increasing local humidity. Rainforests also stabilise our climate, house incredible amounts of plants and wildlife, and produce nourishing rainfall all around the planet.
Reducing deforestation is a huge priority. We all know this. Yet year after year we seeing less and less meaningful action.
Rainforests help us;
Deforestation is a serious problem to humanity and our ecosystems. And a growing trend of companies are buying “carbon credits” to off set their CO2 emissions. However, a recent study and investigation by the Guardian and a group of scientists have exposed the difficulties in relying on such models. More thought leadership is needed if we are to truly protect our rainforests. Proceeds from Sycomore art sales will help scientists and experts in this space explore new ways to accelerate alternative solutions.
We welcome proposed solutions which directly affect any forest in any given area – this includes further academic research funding.
Krystan-Grace Art focuses on storytelling through the interplay of light and shadow, using chiaroscuro to explore human emotion and expression. Her work is driven by a deep fascination with humanity—our shared stories, individual experiences, and the ways art reflects and shapes these narratives.
Informed by her background in art history and archaeology, Krystan-Grace investigates how culture, identity, and history intersect in visual expression. Her nearly decade-long experience includes curating exhibitions in unconventional spaces, challenging traditional boundaries of where and how art is experienced.
Her paintings combine technical precision with a profound curiosity about human connection, creating works that bridge the personal and the universal. Through thoughtful composition and use of light, each piece invites viewers to engage with the layered stories of humanity conveyed within.
