Cecilia’s practice has always been inspired by world geography. Raised in England in the 90s as a dual national by her Mexican mother and British father she was exposed to alternative ways of seeing. The vibrant culture of Mexico with all its celebration of life through colour and music inspired her use of paint.
The quiet, poetic, British contemplation of the remote and raw natural world, nurtured her sensitivity to its simple beauty and truth. This synergy of cultures has nurtured her practice throughout her BA Fine Art degree in Bath, England, into one that champions and draws attention to the overlooked, whether physical or metaphorical.
Cecilia has dedicated her life to inspiring creativity through her art, teaching, and now most importantly, in her young family so that they may have the vision and tools to make positive change as young citizens in this precious world.
